New Update for 788

Post by shooter00 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 5:23 pm

They added 6.250 for the 788.
Mine is the non-DI and I just updated it.
Looks like they have added a few new items to the menus....
I don't recall all the things I saw, most looks to be some of the same things added to the 800/900/1100 series in the V 6.180:

Casting rings.
Headup added to the course menu.
Turn off tracking breadcrumbs.
Heading arrow.
Etc.......

My 798c SI legacy is still at 5.840,hopefully it's next :)

Which 788 ????

Post by Wayne P. » Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:49 pm

There are four 788 models and three of them are "non-DI", maybe you two don't have the same model.

788c Combo
788ci Combo
788ci HD Combo
788ci HD DI Combo

When you discuss your units, use the entire model number.

I updated my 788CI about a week ago. Everything seemed good to go. Drove around lake a bit with no issues. Went out this past weekend. GPS doesn't work right. Took allot longer to finally get a fix. Then it hung up. Went to other side of lake but gps stayed frozen. When I initially turned it on, it hung up. So I removed it from the mount, plugged back in. That's when I noticed the gps taking so long to acquire. Anyone else having issues after updating?

Did you restore Defaults after the software update?

I restored default before the update, according to the directions. Didn't know it was required after the update. Will review directions again and if required, will restore defaults next time I'm on the lake. Thanks for the assistance.

After default setting

That is not in the instructions, but is a suggestion sometimes "just in case".

Just received the same info from humminbird. Will give it a shot when I get back into the water. Thanks again.
