Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to say hello. I just bought a new 899 and have been working on setting it up. My question is, when do I use 455 kHz and when do I use 800? This was my second time on the water today with it. Turned it to 800 and my reading's picked it up dramatically

Most do not use the 800 kHz at all since it has less coverage. It will produce sharper images and only in less water depth than 455 kHz.

The 455 kHz covers from the water's surface to past vertical under the transducer on both sides.

I've had mine on 800 using the detail of it. Fishing 10-20'. Transducer on 12 contrast and 8-10 sensitivity. How do I get that detail on 455. Hard bottom btw

Use the Sensitivity setting to get the best image.
