You're right. The older TE's only used a single beam transducer but starting with the 2008 models they had temp. I believe the proper adapter cable is #8M0029352, but you may want to check with your local Motorguide Dealer

Hi JP: Probably a little late in this answer, but if you haven't mounted the shoot thru the hull 200/83 kHz transducer, here is what I do. I use a heavy duty baggie 1/2 filled with water and lay it in the chosen spot in the hull. Put the transducer on top of the baggie and then but another baggie 3/...

Hi Steve: It will work just fine, although only in the dual beam mode and you won't have the ability to utilize the side indexing features. If you do go the US2 route, make sure you go into the 797's sonar menu and select the US2 transducer selection. You will need to buy the MKR-US2-8 adapter cable...

Good Day: You would be better off with the external mounted SI transducer as you won't get SI with the standard built in Dual Beam transducer and that's sort of a waste of a good SI signal. I have several customers using the same setup with no interference, but I won't lie to you, that doesn't mean ...

Good Day: Does your 777 lock on bottom if you are sitting still with everthing shut off. If it does and only gets erractic when you start moving, then it is probably transducer placement. If it is erractic all the time, then the first thing I would try is a reset to the factory default settings --Pr...

Hey Jimmy: If it's was built this year (and possibly previously) they have dual beam and temp. Here are the specs at this page: http://www.motorguide.com/store/product ... tour/specs

You'll need the #8M400162 adaptor to adapt the built in xdcr to your 788

The 525 utilizes only one frequency (200 kHz) and you may get cross talk where the one unit's transmit signal is picked up by the other unit's reciever which will most likely show up as diagonal lines on the LCD or the digital readout may not lock on the true bottom echo. That being said, I know of ...

Good Day: Does it lock on the bottom OK in deep water when your sitting still? If so and it never worked properly then it is probably in a location where that area of the hull is being aerated at speed. If it used to work well at speed then it's possible that the transducer has degraded and needs to...

Hi Jerome: I'm not sure on the proper dimensions, but most of Humminbird transducers have the transducer part # and a date code stamped on the cable in green, yellow or silver printing about 12 to 18" down from the connector. This should tell you what the part # is. I'm not sure if the nut or the fa...

The GR-50 is not recommended for use on the Matrix products as it draws too much amperage and will probably burn out the switching transistor in the Matrix 47's accessory power supply. As you mentioned the GR16 is the GPS module recommended.

I would try resetting to manufacturer's default settings (push menu twice, scroll over to setup and then down to restore to defaults). Due to the backed up memory, all keypad inputs are stored, so it is always good to reset periodically. Did you happen to "restore to defaults" before you did the upd...

I have upgraded many units with the new down imaging software (version 4.7XX) and I haven't heard of any problems with resetting as your unit is now doing. I would suspect that it is coincidental with an intermittent power supply problem. Take a good look at all connections right back to the battery...
